George Kikano, MD

Medical Director, Clinical Partnerships & Care Integration - Rural Health Transformation Program

Dr. George Kikano joins the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance as Medical Director for Clinical Partnerships and Care Integration for the Rural Health Transformation Program. In this role, he will help guide clinical partnerships and care integration across a 10-county region for the Central Michigan Regional Chronic Disease Care Collaborative.

Dr. Kikano is a physician-executive with more than 30 years of leadership experience in academic medicine, healthcare administration, and higher education. He previously served as Executive Vice President for Health Affairs and Dean of the College of Medicine at Central Michigan University, where he advanced medical education, clinical partnerships, research, and community engagement. He currently serves as Director of Philanthropy for the Primary Care Institute at the Cleveland Clinic and maintains an active clinical practice in Family Medicine. Most recently, he served as Executive Director for Health Education and Innovation at Northwood University, and he holds Dean Emeritus and Faculty Emeritus status at Central Michigan University.
