Kristine Ranger

Food Systems Consultant
Kristine Ranger is the founder of Knowledge Navigators and works with the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance on its food systems initiatives.
Kristine has spent over 40 years of her professional career educating people involved in food and farming and has been honored four times from the American Farm Bureau Federation for outstanding promotion and education programs in agriculture. She consulted in the development of the Michigan State University Product Center for Natural Resources and became a certified Ag Innovation Counselor, coaching numerous “agri-preneurs” in new product development, business planning and strategy, and marketing initiatives. Additionally, she advises and coaches farm families through transition and succession planning and is nationally recognized for her systems approach to human resource management. She was commissioned by the Michigan State University Center for Community and Economic Development to study rural labor issues and develop better practices for the agriculture industry.
Kristine has a bachelor’s degree in animal science, agriculture, & natural resources education and a master’s degree in adult curriculum & instruction. Currently, she leads rural economic development initiatives in her home area of northeast Michigan.
