Breakfast series brings together current and future partners

To continue its mission of breaking down barriers to equitable health and well-being, the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance hosted three collaborative sessions — as well as one at its board meeting on February 22 — to elevate the efforts of current and future partners through funding, partnerships and supportive resources.

Through the sessions in February, more than 100 participants gained insights into the current work and future ideas of their respective organizations. They also learned how they can work together with the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance to forge partnerships, apply for grants and implement programs that deliver results.

“Millions of dollars are available to address social determinants of health, health equity and community development, yet are largely bypassing our region,” said Heidi Tracy, CEO of the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance. “With a strong network of community partners, all of us will have greater success in obtaining — and maximizing — resources to break down barriers to equitable health and well-being in our region.”

Tracy said the goal of the breakfast series was to identify common priorities in communities across the region and formulate transformative, multi-sector ideas that the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance can help bring to life through technical assistance.

“Insights gained from the breakfast series sessions will be incorporated into a comprehensive regional plan and a Regional Collective Impact Summit in this fall,” Tracy said.
