Director of Advocacy for Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion

Nyesha Clark-Young is a Saginaw native, a multi-disciplined artist, and a dedicated activist. Her passion for art, social justice and community involvement has led her to volunteer with several local non-profit organizations including creative director for AmusBE, Art chairwoman for Saginaw African Cultural Foundation, executive board member for The Ezekiel Project and Community Alliance for the People (Saginaw CAP), Michigan Environmental Justice Coalition and Saginaw USDAC Community Arts Outpost. Through her volunteer work, she has made a significant impact on her community and has been an advocate for positive change through art.

Nyesha joins the Michigan Health Improvement Alliance in a joint position with Saginaw CAP as Director of Advocacy for Justice, Equity, Diversity & Inclusion (AJEDI). In this role she will continue her work in social activism by developing and implementing a results-focused, comprehensive strategy to foster equitable, diverse and inclusive strategies that identify and breakdown structural barriers to systemic racism. Her focus will be on advocacy with grassroots organizations, such as Saginaw CAP, to provide distinctive value to our partner organizations and the projects they pursue.
