Brenda Coughlin grew up on a farm in Frankenmuth, Michigan.  She earned a B.S. in Physiology and a B. A. in German from Michigan State University.  She then completed medical school at the University Of Virginia School Of Medicine.  After completing a family medicine residency at Genesys in Grand Blanc, Michigan, Dr. Coughlin began a career with Great Lakes Bay Health Centers, formerly Health Delivery, Inc., a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) that operates several year-round medical and dental centers, seasonal migrant clinics and mobile medical and dental services throughout Lower Michigan as a Staff Physician.  She was soon promoted to Medical Director, a position which she held for thirteen years before being named President and Chief Executive Officer in April of 2012.

Dr. Coughlin is a Board Certified Family Physician and a Fellow of the American Academy of Family Physicians.  In 2008 while serving as Medical Director of Health Delivery, she completed a Master’s of Public Health at the University of Michigan.

Her passion is to provide excellent care for the underserved, uninsured and underinsured.  She is striving to provide excellent care for anyone who chooses to seek care at Great Lakes Bay Health Centers and to build a company that is an excellent employer.

Brenda is married to her husband of over twenty years, Tom.   They reside in Frankenmuth with their three children and two dogs.  She enjoys reading and spending time with her family.
