The Executive Council membership shall be comprised up to 24 volunteers from throughout the region and another 12 members recommended by each of the four advisory groups. The successful MiHIA collaborative structure requires the development and implementation of a shared vision and plan for addressing the many challenges related to health data exchange in the region. Once MiHIA is established as a formal corporation, the executive council recommendations shall be sent to the BOD for final approval. Shared Governance Tasks: - Endorse a shared vision statement, guiding principles and operations of an health information exchange and collaboration among stakeholders
- Examine successful governance strategies used by working other health data exchange initiatives and recommend the most appropriate for MiHIA
- Define a structure and approach that effectively attracts and retains participants and defines roles and responsibilities of a public/private collaborative
- Provide feedback and endorse the business plan for the creation of an HIE/VE
- Prioritize those key barriers and/or necessary incentives associated with the successful implementation of the business plan
- Provide feedback and endorse a region wide communication plan that conveys accurate and useful information, uses existing communication channels and creates new channels as needed, and presents information in a timely and effective manner.
