Who We Are
The Michigan Health Information Alliance (MiHIA) is a collaboration among a broad range of stakeholders representing the central medical trading area with the goal of leveraging Health Information Technology (HIT) to improve the quality, safety, access, and cost-effectiveness of health care to the region’s inhabitants and their families. The Michigan Health Information Alliance is supported by Central Michigan University and Central Michigan University Research Corporation acting as fiduciary agents. Mission
The Michigan Health Information Alliance (MiHIA) is a regional collaboration committed to improving people’s health through the innovative use of information. Central Medical Trading Area 
The initial region of focus is the Central Medical Trading Area. It is comprised of 14 counties in the central Michigan region. They include Clare, Gladwin, Gratiot, Iosco, Isabella, Midland, Ogemaw, Saginaw, Arenac, Bay, Roscommon, Sanilac, Tuscola, and Huron counties. It is one of nine medical trading areas defined by the State of Michigan Department of Community Health.
